Amsterdam - Turlock - 01-06-2011 I'm suprised with the lack of talk about Dam on this board. Are there any other fans out there?. Do you still go Jay? The level of service isn't as good as it is here, but it is nice to be in a Disney Land for grown ups for 2-3 days. The lack of talk is probably because there is a board dedicated to the Dam scene: http://www.ignatzmice.com/RLD_Walking_Tour Excellent info on there and it has a forum as well! I have not been for ages. It used to be fantastic, but I heard they have been shutting places down. Does anybody have any recent info? I must make the effort to go back again this year. RE: Amsterdam - Turlock - 01-06-2011 Yeah I use that board everyday. Great up to date info. 2010 was the first year in ages I've not been, I try and get 1-2 trips in a year, been going since 1995 as a 17 year old Though have to say it was because I was a toker, took me a few trips to bite the bullet and indulge myself but glad I did. As for shutting things down, there's not an awful lot of difference from how it used to be. There have been a few window closures but I never notice any change from trip to trip. They're trying to make a new law now only allowing residents to buy from coffee shops to prevent people driving over the border, filling their car up and going home to sell it. That would be a disaster, though the mayor of Amsterdam is against it saying it will drive the industry back onto the streets, so there is some hope. I'll meet up for half a shandy if our trips coincide. There's a new strip/lapdancing+groping club opened on the top floor of the Bananenbar, expensive at 35E for a gropy dance. In La Vie En Proost you can just tip 10E for a couple of minutes gropy dance and they seem happy, though at 12E a pint it can add up fast. RE: Amsterdam - Real Punter - 01-06-2011 Wow Turlock sounds like you are the guy to know when visiting Amsterdam. It would be great to meet up. Perhaps we should arrange a RealPunting field trip? Other forums hold parties & socials but we could have a weekend in Amsterdam. I do know the guys from Your Choice who sell my DVDs. I'm sure some of them would be up for joining us at a coffee shop or lap dancing bar. So my next question is would there be any interest in this? Hahaha, I almost tongue in cheek suggested the same thing. The thing with the Ignatzmice meet ups are they're done on the fly with coinciding trips mostly. Dunno about other forums. It's tricky, as the idea of a holiday with 20 strangers is quite off putting for a lot of people, particularly with this hobby, shared or not. Lets see what the response is like. We could just all arrange to be in Dam on a particular weekend. Then if people want to meet up individually then can do that and we could also have some group events - like visiting a lap dancing club on Friday say. Or a few hours socialising at a coffee house. So it could be more like do you own thing but then meet up with others if you want. I'm aiming for April-May time, looking at 2-3 nights. I'll make a suggestion now for people to check out http://www.Priceline.co.uk and use the set your own price option. You can get a 4 star hotel for half the price of a 3 star at the right time of year. Only issue is you have to give your card number up front and can't get a refund if you don't like the hotel they give you. Obviously you get to choose the zone and what star. Any chance we can settle on an exact date? Even if it's just you and me Turlock I think we should go for it. Punting holiday - sounds fab. RE: Amsterdam - Turlock - 01-07-2011 An exact date might be tricky mate. How much notice do you think you'll need? Got a few things on the go at the mo, sorry for being a bit vague. Just let us know when you have firmer plans. Can probably get some more peeps to come if you can give us like 4 weeks notice. |
